Our Programme
Education should be active and enjoyable whilst challenging students to fulfill their full potential.
Learning in all our classes is interactive and interesting. The key to our success is a stimulating,
happy, and nurturing environment where learning is tailored to accommodate students’ individual needs
and learning styles. Core subjects are balanced with ICT, underpinned by a strong Christian ethos.
This academically excellent, individualized Christian education enables parents to monitor the standards
and content of their children’s education. Our small class sizes ensure that each child receives
individual attention, and all students flourish in the nurturing Christian environment of which we
are proud of.
Spiritual Activities
At the very heart of Christian education is the constant concern of the entire staff for the spiritual
growth and vitality of the student body. As a part of this concern, a weekly chapel programme is
observed to spiritually challenge and uplift our students.
Since our aim is to ensure as well to produce students who are not only academically excellent but also
morally and spiritually mature, the boarder’s fellowship was established to achieve this purpose.
This fellowship is handled by ministers of high intellectual sagacity and spiritual maturity. Their pastoral
support and counseling and quasi-parental influence has helped to ensure positive transformation
in all areas.
The purpose of DWIS Chapel is to provide an opportunity for the student body to gather together to worship
God and receive edification through prayers, scriptures and praises. Students are asked to participate
in various aspects of the Chapel programmes in order to develop the talents and abilities needed
for leadership in their church or country.
DWIS Mission Statement includes “an academic and spiritual community equipping students to think biblically,
live wisely, and serve faithfully.” Two of the goals included in DWIS Philosophy are that “students
will leave DWIS well prepared to serve Christ in their community and country; to live and work as
effective ambassadors for Christ in an ever-changing secular society.”
Throughout the Chapel activities the emphasis is on the instruction and character development necessary
to mould DWIS students into strong Christian leaders and ministers in their family, church, and country.
Revival hour is held on Thursdays from 6pm – 7:30pm while worship service is held on Sundays from 7am
to 10:10am.
There is also one hour hostel fellowship on Sundays Evening from 5:40pm to 6:40pm.
Sporting Activities
Participation in sporting activities at DWIS provide opportunities for students to develop their skills
and talents and to grow in their walk with God by experiencing struggles, failures, successes, and
relationships in the context of a Biblical framework. We believe our well-rounded athletic programme
offers positive values, attitudes, and inspiration for every area of a student's life. We offer athletic
opportunities for students at all levels of their ability.
It is our desire for all of our athletes to be eligible to play for their respective house.
We encourage them at all times to maintain excellent academic standard in the classroom and to live lives
that glorify our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
The following guidelines are in effect not only for athletics, but for all extracurricular activities.
Students who failed test or examination in any class at the time of progress reports will be suspended
from all games, practices, rehearsals and performances, starting from the day progress reports are
issued.
Students may regain their eligibility as soon as he/she improve on his/her grade. Students with poor
grade at the end of the grading period will be suspended from all games, practices and rehearsals.
Therefore any student who wants to participate in sports must be ready to work hard in his/her academics
in order to avoid being suspended from sporting activities

Parents' Information
Students' Health Condition:
It has been observed that some parents do not like disclosing the real health status of their children
for some reasons but we cherish your children and we are concerned about their health condition so
that we can render necessary assistance when the need arises.
Note: Any parent keeping the true health information from the school is taking a great risk
as this may lead to the student’s expulsion.
Gadgets:
Since not all students can handle electrical gadgets meticulously, all electrical appliances that may
cause harm to the child or to the hostel would
Parents Modest Dressing:
We appreciate the cooperation of parents in dressing appropriately when on campus or attending school
functions. Your modest attire helps to set a good example for our students. Therefore, any dressing
the school deems inappropriate or distracting (Clothing that expose sensitive part of the body) may
result in denial of permission to visit on the DWIS campus.
Parent-Teacher Association:
The Parent-Teacher Association exists to provide a focus for greater contact with parents and to promote
close co-operation between parents and staff in everything pertaining to the well-being of the school
and its students.
Parent-Teacher Association meeting is held once per term throughout the school year. It is extremely
important and valuable for the parent(s) to meet with the teacher(s) to discuss the progress, needs
and achievements of their children.
We ask our parents to pledge their loyalty to the aims and ideals of DWIS. Any question, concern or criticism
should be brought to the school authority to be properly considered by those in authority. Talking
to those who are not directly involved in the problem or as part of the solution is not wise.
The purpose of the PTA is to put our mental resources together for the success of our children but never
to tear down one another.
Attendance in this meeting is compulsory for all parents and decisions reached during the meeting are
binding on all parents, staff and students.
Bringing visitors to school is discouraged. However, if there is a valid reason why a visitor must come
to school, this will be considered by the principal or principal’s designee. The visitor is to have
a pass from the principal before he/she can move freely in the campus.
Birthday Celebrations:
Celebration of student birthdays may be celebrated with classmates during the break period. All birthday
celebrations should be arranged in advance with the head teacher or principal. Birthday songs will
be sung within the classroom and prayer will be made for the celebrant.
Note that no edible item must be shared to the students during the birthday celebration since we would
not know the source of those items. This is for the security of our children, please.
Communication and Complaints Procedure:
To be able to work as a Christian community, the school must have a means of dealing with complaints.
The Bible exhorts us to 'make every effort to live at peace with all men'. It also gives principles
and means of reconciliation when differences arise (Matt 5:23, 24).
Complainants are first to approach the person directly concerned. (e.g. teacher).
Any parental concern regarding an occurrence at school is a school concern and should be
brought to the school, not to the parent of any other child involved.
In the event that a complaint related to the school is raised with another member of the
school community, who is neither the reason for the complaint nor the appropriate person
to deal with it, that person should encourage the complainant to go directly to the appropriate
person – offering to accompany the complainant if necessary.
Complaints may be made orally in the first instance.
In the interest of natural justice, the person about whom a concern has been raised (complaint made)
must have the opportunity to hear all details about the complaint and reply to it.
If the complaint is not resolved, you may go to the next level of authority. (e.g. principal).
If the complaint is still not resolved, take it to the school administrator who will look into the
matter carefully with other members of the executive.
Contact Address/Phone No. Changes:
Parents should report promptly to the school registry any changes in residential address or telephone
number after enrolment. This is to ensure that records are correct in case of an emergency.
